AERIUS Marine wins a major contract at MV WERFTEN

MV WERFTEN (Wismar/Stralsund) has commissioned AERIUS Marine to provide the air conditioning systems for three mega-yachts of the Endeavor class. As a system integrator, AERIUS Marine will supply the complete air conditioning systems turnkey, including cold water chillers (i.e. the package contains everything from design, delivery/material logistics and installation to commissioning).

The ships are being built for the Crystal Cruises brand belonging to Genting Hong Kong. Delivery of the prototype Crystal Endeavor is planned for 2019. The three luxury cruise ships have an ice class of PC6 and permit tours from the tropics to the polar regions. With regard to air conditioning, the ships are subject to the highest standards, e.g. with regard to comfort and noise requirements.

“We’re immensely proud to be contributing to these ships and bringing our experience that is based on the design and construction of air conditioning systems on more than 50 complex passenger ships to MV WERFTEN,” says Thomas Arlit, CEO of AERIUS Marine. “And we’re delighted to be part of, that passenger ships are being built at the MV WERFTEN locations again.”

“Already during basic design for the Endeavor class, the cooperation between the shipyard and our team worked very well,” emphasises Stefan Schleper, Director Passenger Ship AERIUS Marine and added that “in addition to competence on both sides, an important factor for the successful completion of the ships is the ability to speak one language and, despite an international orientation, also remain connected to the region. Several of our colleagues in our German team have roots in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, as does our project manager for the Endeavor class.”

AERIUS Marine is the market leader for the design, installation, component selection and delivery and commissioning of complex marine air conditioning solutions and is also active in the fields of pipework, refrigeration and fire fighting. The main focus of our activities is on newbuilds of passenger and naval vessels and support of air conditioning systems during the entire life cycle of a ship. The company’s roots lie in the Rud. Otto Meyer (ROM) company founded in 1858. With its headquarters in Hamburg, AERIUS Marine is currently represented in Germany, the UK, India and France and has around 400 employees.
