AERIUS Marine successfully certified in accordance with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001

AERIUS Marine GmbH’s management system, which has already been certified in accordance with ISO 9001 since 1994, has now achieved additional certifications in accordance with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. The management system focuses on the minimisation of risk for both people and the environment, and this aim is pursued by means of a preventative approach, which is an essential component of the company’s continual improvement process.

“The aim of this step is to integrate the responsibility for people and the environment, which has always been such a central concept in our company, in existing value-added processes even more systematically from now on. Healthy, motivated employees are the most significant factor in the success of our company, irrespective of whether they sit behind a desk or work on site at our customers’ shipyards,” said Thomas Arlit, CEO.

Stefan Schleper, Director Passenger Ships, added: “Environmental protection has always been a key aspect in our work: With innovative design, for example decentralised HVAC systems, our engineers can effect a direct influence on the energy efficiency and environmental record of cruise liners.”

“Our efforts to expand our management system in the fields of occupational health and safety and environmental protection have paid off, and we were very proud to receive confirmation of the fact that our QHSE management system corresponds to the international standards when we were awarded the certifications by Lloyd Register LRQA,” said Klaus Aulich, Chief Operating Officer.
